February has always my favourite month. Its the not only the month of of my wife’s birthday but also the traditionally the start of Chelsea Cup and the 1^st of February 2013 was the date our journey began this year.

The great summer weather continued and the Prestige Reality Ladies team got off to a romping victory winning 6-0 against a young Belmont team. Campbells Bay Rosie Cheng and Kelly Drew were in ruthless form disposing of Mariko Newman and Ellie Thomspon 6-0 6-0 while Kairangi Vano and Charlotte Roberts had a straight sets win over Diana Deyeva and Katie Antsupova 6-1 6-4. The singles contests then began with Kairangi beating Diana 6-2 6-2 and three Campbells bay debutantes Rosie beating Katie 6-2 6-2, Kelly beating Ellie 6-1 6-1 and premier doubles player Laura Isbey beating Mariko 6-0 6-0

This left the spectators time to finish their sundowners at one of the finest locations in Campbell’s Bay.

You be pleased to know that thanks to efforts of John Smith and 4 of our committee members we have successfully applied and been granted a liquor license for the Chelsea Cup. Our club also has five qualified bar managers who were very active in utilising their new found skills on Friday night. So make sure you come and join in the celebrations every Friday Night.

Next week our Ladies take on a strong Mairangi Bay team with matches starting at 18:00
